Chicken in a bag (well a foil thing)
“Chicken in a bag” – ok, I know what you are thinking when you read that…… well at first I had visions of an actual frozen chicken in a plastic bag that you would get from a supermarket! But, this is actually really really nice!
Despite a few problems with the ingredients – looking round the shop trying to work out what “Porcini” was (not ham or pasta) or ‘tearing up’ a mushroom it was all worth it. The recipe was taken from the Jamie Oliver “Happy Days” book (http://www.jamieoliver.com/books/happy-days-naked-chef-book ) and was, despite my fears, reasonably easy to follow thanks to a few tips from my good camera lady!
In summary, you just get a sheet of tin foil, wrap it up like a Christmas present and then shove all your ingredients and wine in! I put some rice on with it at the same time and served it all together. You’re left with a pretty funky tasting chicken, the wine leaves a nice bit of ‘drizzle’ to put over the chicken too.
All in all a pretty darn good tasting meal – just a bit of fun trying to get rid of the smell of the garlic in the kitchen!
